Greek Stata Users Conference

We are delighted to announce that the first Greek Stata Users Conference will be held on the 28th and 29th of January 2027 at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). The meeting will open with an “Invited Speaker” session held by Demetris Christodoulou (University of Sydney) and will be followed by a series of user and StataCorp presentations, offering participants a unique forum for interdisciplinary exchange through both the presentation of new community user written commands and applied work developed in Stata. The conference provides researchers working in Stata with an opportunity to:

EXCHANGE both new community written routines and Tips and Tricks developed for Stata;

DISCOVER new applications highlighting Stata 19’s potential capabilities for applied research;

MEET Stata users working in different disciplinary areas;

INTERACT directly with statisticians from StataCorp.

This year’s meeting will be attended by Jeff Pitblado, Executive Director, Statistical Software, StataCorp and Kristin MacDonald, Executive Director of Statistical Services, StataCorp.

For this first edition of the Greek Stata Users Conference, the Scientific Committee is particularly looking for:

  1. New user COMMANDS / ROUTINES focusing on:
    • New estimation methods;
    • User written routines both short and long, developed simply to make life easier in Stata for our “Tips and Tricks” session;
    • Stata’s connectivity to external applications, such as Python, R or Java;
    • Reporting tools for the creation of dynamic dashboards or automatic internet publishing;
    • Data visualization;
  2. APPLIED STUDIES exploiting the latest methodologies introduced in Stata 19 are also welcome.
  3. POSTERS: the conference will feature a dedicated poster session aimed at Ph.D. students and early – career researchers. This session provides an opportunity to present ongoing work, preliminary results, or innovative applications of Stata in a more informal and interactive setting. Participants will have the chance to engage directly with conference attendees, receive feedback, and foster new collaborations. We especially encourage submissions that showcase novel methodologies, creative uses of data, or work in progress.

Ph.D Students/Researchers new to the concept of conference poster creation may find the NYU and Yale Universities guides particulary useful.

Stata related (licences, training, and Stata Press texts) will be awarded at the end of the conference to the three best posters.

Abstracts and Posters are welcome in both Greek and English.

DAY TWO OPTIONAL WORKSHOP

The second day of the conference will be dedicated to the following training course: Automating Your Research in Stata: “A Little Bit of Programming Goes An Awfully Long Way!” led by Giovanni Cerulli – National Research Council of Italy – IRCrES.
