StataCorp’s online NetCourse® program has been developed with the specific objective of providing end-users with a cost effective flexible platform training platform, through which they are to acquire the necessary toolset to enable them to work independently in Stata. Courses run for six to seven weeks and are divided into a series of weekly sessions. NetCourses® are not however, conducted in real time. At the beginning of each session, members receive all relevant material: handouts; answers to the questions and solutions from the exercises done in the previous session. End users can therefore participant in weekly sessions, at their own convenience and are not required to be online at a specific time. Between sessions members have time to: review previous lessons; complete exercises related to the subject of the last session; discuss problems/ideas with the other participants and the course leaders via an electronic discussion area. Participants can ask course leaders questions and communicate with other participants. Course leaders will respond to questions and comments on specific days. At the end of the course, the course specific email circuit remains open for a specific period to facilitate discussions between both the participants and course leaders.
Should you wish to choose a specific period in which to follow one of StataCorp’s NetCourses® and to have a personal NetCourse leader, then StataCorp’s NetCourseNow Program is the best way to structure your online training. In a NetCourseNow™ all of the lessons are posted once enrolment is completed. Participants are thus able to review the course material at their own pace. Participants also receive their instructor’s personal email address so that they can email both comments and questions regarding course content when necessary.
